hi all

the steering wheel on my 78 was loose,so i took the column apart only to find the 4 bolts were tight.

after looking at it awhile my friend came over and wiggled the wheel and i found the rag joint looked like it was moving.

took a pry bar and jammed it in the joint and the wheel was fine.

anyone had this problem?

is it really the joint doing this?

thanks

pete k

Which way is the wiggle?  That makes a difference.  If it is rotational, then yes it could be the rag jount.  If not check the lower bearing in the column for play.
