Just an Idea I think both steeroids and Borgeson user seem to be happy with their units you could go to each web site look at the installation instructions for your car and see which you would feel comfortable installing. I believe after installation you would want to get a good alignment which is another issue finding someone who can align your vette correctly

Yes it does away with the steer cylinder and control valve.
The the power steering pressure and return lines go straight from the power steering pump to the steering box like a typical old school GM A & G body (Cutlass, Regal, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix)
Clean and simple.

What ratio is the original Saginaw type steering box on a 68. Do I go with a 12:1 ratio; 8:1 ratio, 6:1 (which seems like maybe to responding and to tight of steering)
or 14:1 to 17:1.
For street driving and autocross.

Original box was 16:1. The Borgeson is around 12:1 and I think the Steeroids is similar.
If you shop around, like on Summit, etc., you can get the Borgeson at a pretty reasonable price.

It looks as though both are good upgrades. I recommended looking at the installation instruction because for the borgesen I believe you have to remove the steering column to change the length How was that procedure?

I agree, they are both good upgrades.
On a Borgeson there is no need to remove the steering column unless the steering shaft is completely seized.
I've installed two of these units. Ebo's and my vette. I sprayed the shaft with penetrating oil and then took a soft face mallet and collapsed the shaft into the column a couple inches. Just have to be careful not to get carried away. I got both of our car the steering shafts to slide in and out like butter after working it back and forth with penetrating oil.
Gary, yes the steering was a lot quicker. From what I recall I went from like 3 turns lock to lock to 2.5 turns.
