No, the A/C pulley is part of the A/C clutch mechinism and the power steering pulley is a larger pulley that is pressed onto the shaft.
Your drawing seems to show the alt. belt going around the power steering pulley? It doesn't.

I agree. It should have one belt around the crank to the power steering. One belt to the crank, water pump and alternator. I don't know the arrangement on the AC.

I cant go out and look at my vette right now to confirm this but from memory it goes, inner most belt around crank and waterpump and A/C, second belt: around crank and waterpump and alternator, last belt and outer most on the crank to the powersteering. it might be alternator belt inner most though, I dont know how your brackets are. I am using aftermaket brackets and aftermarket A/C compressor.

My bad about the image guys. My dad knos the correct order. I totally messed up on my image, ha-ha! Hey on the power steering pump do I get:

655-515 SB-Chevy 1-Groove Press Fit Power Steering Pulley

or

655-523 SB-Chevy 1-Groove Keyway 5-3/4'' Dia. Power Steering Pulley

It hink its the press fit for stock, but I'm not sure.

I would think a 77 would be the pressed fit pulley.

Just a quick question for you guys, does it make sense to you to move my alternator to the passenger's side, to eliminate all the belts pulling to one side. I'm currently in the process of planning my engine build, and was just tossing this idea around. My 77 does not have A/C.

Thanks,

Alan

I dont think it will effect anything if belt tension is all to one side. Sounds like alot of trouble for little or no gain. New brackets, running a longer wire and routing it in a neat way and maybe more. just my two cents.
