Vette(s): 1972 coupe/350 cid/mild cam/4 spd/20 ft. paint (looks perfect from 20 ft.), but it sure runs nice.

Uh, oh!  I think I may have pumped too much grease into it....hard turning the wheel, kinda feels like no power steering. Is there a way to relieve this pressure....can I remove the grease fitting and turn the wheel lock-to-lock without screwing something else up maybe?

You can take off the grease fitting,if you can, just make sure you dont break it off.all the grease does is lube the ball joint ,it doesn't go inside the valve, the valve itself is lubed by the power steering fluid, over greasing the ball joint shouldn't affect your P.S..if you put too much grease in it it should ooze out the other side, just like a regular ball joint does  there is some other problem there

Thanks, Bossman.....I was maneuvering it in close quarters when I noticed how hard the wheel felt. Tomorrow I'll give it a more thorough road test.

Was it a new valve. If you got it from me or VBP your not supposed to grease them. You'll blow the seal out and ruin the valve.
