Ya'll need to realize these bleeders don't require a lot of pressure to work. I only use 10 psi in mine. It don't really take a lot of pressure to push the fluid thru the lines/calipers.
I posted this because not everyone has the ability, or time, to make their own bleeder, and this seemed to be a good deal, considering the one I have cost over $300 ten years ago!
As far as getting them to seal on the master, less pressure will prolly help, as well as a thick enough cover that won't flex. The adapter for my bleeder is aluminuminum, and aboot 3/8" thick, with a rubber seal that is prolly 1/4" thick....it seals very nicely.

With the Motive bleeder, ya pretty much just toss the J hooks and chains and use your own C clamps.
I use 2, one over each compartment.
Then pressurize the tank DRY to check for leaks. You may need to actually loosen the C clamps to get a good seal
I don't know how I'd get along without one!

I'll ask the simple question (sorry - had to ask) - is the gasket in place on the modified MC cover? If so using the bales to hold it in place should be no different than when the regular MC cover is in place.Norsky 2008-10-03 21:57:41

Yes I even Bought a new gasket, when I would pump the tank up it would not hold 5 psi, it would leak out around the seal at the MC

i bought one off of ebay. instead of pumping it through the m/c it sucks it through the bleeder valves. just need to hook it up to a compressor to create the vacuum. used it on my 90 and it worked great.

Norsky; Yes you leave the gasket on the cover, but be sure to snip out a piece between the front and rear tanks so the pressure can get to both.
