i am trying to rebuild my powersteering but i stumbled on a few problems and i can't find the answers in my service manual

how to get this seal (red arrow) (and the shaft?)out of the ps-cylinder, i already too that clip off:

does that "ball stud"" ?  at the end (2) doesn't have to be replaced? my rebuild kit doesn't have that part , actually never saw it in a rebuild kit

is there any trick to get the pulley off the ps-pump (78 corvette)?  i tried a puller , heating it up  but no go so far . pulley already has a slight bend  and the heating up probably screwed the shaft seal so i really need to get it off... is cutting my last option?

(1) On the seal, you can take a small drill bit, and drill a hole in it at the outer edge, or something like an icepick, to make a hole in the seal. Then screw a small sheet metal screw into the hole. Use a pair of pliers to pull the screw (with the seal) out. Just be careful not to scratch the shaft. It is very hard steel, but it can be damaged if you're not careful.

(2) On the ball joint(stud), if it's not loose,(really floppy) it's probably OK. I'm not sure, but I believe it is not replaceable. If it's floppy, you may need a new cyl.

(3) If you've used a heat wrench on the p/s pulley, you have already damaged the seal.
Does your pump have a press on pully, or a nut to hold it on? Either way, the only way to get the pulley off is with a good puller, one that encircles the "lip" of the pulley, by the shaft. A normal two-finger puller will usually not get the pulley off without damaging the pump shaft, or the pulley. You may need to take it to a shop & have them press it off for you.
(Some auto-parts stores have special tools that you can rent. You might check & see if one of your locals has a p/s pulley puller.)
Hope this doesn't ruin your day!

ok.. here i am with a question about the next step.

the sealkit is a bit different compared with the old one

so i have no idea in what order i have to put seals:

1= leather ring (   with a -->  /  edge

2 = copper ( fits on one side perfectly onto the leather one)

3= rubber

any idea in what order i have to put these rings

the old one had 2 rubber seals inside (still on the shaft)

my first guess  first install the rubber (3) ,  the  leather (1) and on top the copper (2) one?

3-4-1-2. Just did my white 79 last week. 1 and 2 are wipers to keep the shaft clean.  Mike
