P.S> the torq wrench would not fit the bolts right next to the carb so I used a open end wrench and just guessed at the torq 30lbs is quite a bit on a small bolt.
I am running a 350 sb and have used several differen't gaskets over the years and prefure fel-pro ms90314-2
this is a blue gasket that seals well. about $10
The gasket has a ridge or bump on one side by the ports this faces up during insulation. |saluteflag|

Thanks for the tips. I'll tackle it this weekend probably. I'm lining up some help as I write this...

Ok, another question. I've got an EGR valve on my Vette. The vacuum hose is disconnected and the fitting is plugged. So, can I get an intake manifold without the EGR provision, or do I need to get one that allows for EGR? |headscratch|

Depends on the state you live in.Are you required to do smog or inspection ,My 75 will be exempt from smog next year but do I need the equipment on my car?
I would call the DMV or go to a garage and ask them....
would be no fun to half to do all agin in a year..

There is no inspection where I live, and I have no idea if there ever will be. I live way out in the country. Mainly, I need to know if it will screw up my engine if I get one with out it. They are less expensive without the EGR.

Just visited the Ga. DOT and DMV websites. Only vehicles 24 years old and newer are to be inspected and then only in the Atlanta metro area. I'm exempt. |bouncy| So, does that mean I can get the manifold without the EGR?

My performer manifold has egr when I replaced my intake manifold gasket I used one with out the hole for egr so its just there for looks right now, does not effect the way it runs at all. |thumb|
I want to do hooker header and side pipes,But I need to find out first if I need the smoge stuff when my car is excempt next year 30yrs old .Ca requires this 75 to have a catalic converter air pump heat riser & egr valve.I will no longer half to pass a smoge but will there be a visual insp. incase of sale or every 2 yrs.
also side pipes are illegal in Ca. on any car.
