My 1977 has original aluminum wheels. Just recently I have been experiencing a slow leak on one tire. I pulled the tire ran a water test on the tire looking for a leak. What I found was pin holes in the rim allowing the air to escape. I have read about this problem and I think the fix is painting the interior of the rim with some product.
Has anyone heard about this problem and if so, what is the product used to seal the leaks?

The alum. rims for the mid-years(64-67) had similar porousity problems, and this epoxy paint was great for that.
If all else fails, put a tube in it!!

Sorry, Larry...I HATE fix-a-flat!!! It would have to be a DIRE emergency for me to use it. That's just me, tho. The stuff does work.

Joel, thanks for the response, do you know the name of the Eastwood product? I looked at their web site and while the have pant for everything I could not find a product that was advertised to seal aluminum.

One possible solution would be to paint the inside of the rim. Use a decent primer, and then a good paint. It should seal it, and hopeful stop future leaks. Rustolium may do the job.
