Ok, OK, we all know the parking brake design of our C3's is not the most effective.
Well, mine doesn't work at all and I need to do something about it as the car will soon have to go through a technical check to get the paperwork in order.
I started to follow the instruction of the Haynes manual but the sketch shown in the book doesn't match what I have on the car:
I can't find the hole with the adjustment screw. Any idea how to proceed ?

the 2 holes at 12&6 o clock are the holes you want. rotate it till you can see abjusters then away you go.might need a torch to see in there.

OK, thanks, But when rotating, everything rotates together, including what I see through the holes. I can I make what I see through slip ?

By the looks at the picture,it looks like the rotor has been off and put back in the wrong position blocking off the adjustment holes ? maybe ?

Hi, I agree with Ron, probably a replaced rotor that wasn't indexed to the hole in the spindle to allow acess to the star wheel adjustor on the park brake. You'll have to unbolt the caliper, hang it out of the way and rotate the rotor until the hole lines up with the hole in the spindle. Hopefully this won't cause excessive run-out in the system, but at least you'll be able adjust to get some gratification-flandy

If that is what happened ,when you take the rotor off ,you can adjust the brakes a little at a time with the rotor off and put it back on till you get it set where you want it.

These rotors have been off, and they are turned a notch or so, so the adjustment holes are blocked. You will need to remove the rotors, as stated above, and then turn them so the two adjustment holes line up with the holes in the hub.

Long screwdriver works for the adjustment of the star-wheels. While you have the rotor off, take a look at how they turn for the adjustment, and then you'll know which way you need to go.
When you take the caliper off, leave the pads in there, and use a socket, or block of wood to hold the pads out against the caliper. There are springs in the pistons that will push the pads toward the rotor, so you need something to keep them pushed into the caliper, so when you put the caliper back on, you don't have to fight with the pads.
