Well I finally broke down and did it. It was a tough choice. Now I can kinda understand why it takes so long for my wife to buy clothesConfused. They are 16" Torq-Thrust II polished with BF Goodrich G-Force Sport 255/50 -16. I was going to go with 17" but was worried the 45 series tires would make for a rough ride. So I compromised with the 16's. Ordered from Tirerack so I should see them at the end of the week.Big%20smile

Even though I prefer the stock look myself, you can't go wrong with a set of TT IIs   Thumbs%20Up

It's good that you can even find a decent set of 16" tires anymore...got 16s on the '85, and the Cad...tire selection for 16" sux...

I'll agree with the choice on rims...classy!

I had to replace the tires before the trip because of their age and have always wanted to up-size the wheels. So I figured I better do it now or it might be along time before I wear these new tires out. I found the receipt for the tires on the vette this winter. I have a large folder of receipts from the previous two owners so it took a while to find it. They were bought in 1992Shocked and still have about 75% of the tread. I will get some pic's as soon as I canWink. I was worried about what type of tires were out there for 16's but I figured the g-force would be a good bet. I don't auto-x so I don't need the best.

Sweet combo!  Thumbs%20Up I'm also thinking about a tire/wheel upgrade (but thinking is about all I can do at the moment).  Like many of you, I have a list of future improvements as long as my arm, and wheels are not that high on the list.

I'm considering taller, wider wheels (16, 17) with lower profile tires.  I currently have stock 15" rallys with BRAND NEW TAs now. I'm sure someone will be interested in them if I do upgrade.  That MIGHT make it doable.

Those are the leadning candidates for my '71 - I'll probably go with 17's.

Vette(s): 2005 Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic Coupe --------------------- Sold 1974 T-top, 4 spd to BillKS

I have the TTII's, but I kept the stock ralleys and BFG tires.  I have all the original parts for the engine, etc. that I can put back on if I want to go back stock.  The only things I can't are the fiberglass front and rear bumpers and the cam.  That way I can put it back to an almost pure stock numbers matching car.
