A new pump is probably cheaper.

No, Summit has a stock pan for 20 something dollars. Chromed for $33. That's where I got the pump, so they should have a solution.
Thanks guys.

I picked up an oil pump from Summit to solve my problem but wouldn't raising the oil level in the pan by adding more oil also solve the problem?

Hank, if the replacement pan is deeper than the original, and that is the cause for the extra clearance, there is no problem with adding more oil. Bring the oil back up the original level on the dipstick and there will be no problem.
But there is one issue. At high speed corners, hard acelleration, hard decel, the oil will slosh a bit more if it has more room. With a low oil level this could cause the engine to starve for oil during those times. With the extra oil this should not be a problem.
If you are getting into this kind of a situation the car would really need dry sump set up anyway to keep from sucking air. Many race cars have this set up. You don't need it.
Use the pan you want, and fill the oil.

One more question. Is there a simple way to determine if the pan you have requires a thick or thin gasket? Thanks
