Well after a year being at the mechanics shop the car is Finley home. I notice that the oil pressure gage reads at 70+ when I put the pedal down is this a normal reading?

Which car is this? If it's the '7o, then it has a mechanical gauge, and that reading is prolly correct.
If it's the '81, that gauge is electrical, and it may be correct or it may not be.
70psi is nothing to worry aboot, anyway. It may be a bit higher than "normal", but ok just the same.

I run about 70+ on my 70 also.
We are going to drop the oil pan and get a look at the pump just to see whats in there.
