Vette(s): 1976 coupe with a custom body and a 396 big block with nitrous installed. Runs great!!
The newer blends of oil have had certain chemicals left out of their mix so their manufacturers can meet emission regulations. When breaking in an engine it is absolutly nessesary to have these chemicals in. Rotella T (non-synth) still uses all of the old blends dating from years back and is used to break-in a new engine.
My choice of synthetic oil is Royal Purple. Excellent stuff! Use it,love it.custom762007-05-16 03:05:14

Good article.  I read it some time back and it was enough to get me to switch to Rotella (with Slick 50; from another great C3VR thread). Thumbs%20Up  To quote a famous tiger, this forum is "G-R-R-R-A-T-E!" Thanx.

that's why i have joined to... there are some guys around who know their stuff about corvettes for sure... i won't mention any names cause i might forget to mention someone of them Shocked

and about the oil issue.. looks like there won't be much problem to switch to synthetic.. but on the other hand i can stick to the mineral too :)
and then there is ofcourse that rotella stuff for diesels i can use... too many choices for an old man LOL
anyway.. most im portant.. i can't go wrong with any of these three

thanks  guys
