I've been contemplating new wheels for my '76 and have gotten a mixed bag of opinions. I'm still undecided though I found some that I like. I'd really be interested in the opinions from this forum.

The following link will show you 4 pictures of my car with different wheels - sort of. The top (#1) one shows how the car looks now. The middle picture (#2) is a cut/paste job (not the best quality but you'll get the idea) of the new ones I found that I liked. I just added another picture (#3) of another set of chrome wheels. The bottom picture (#4) is based on a suggestion from someone who designs cars - utilizing the existing wheels with a slight modification.

So - which do you like? #1, #2, #3, #4 or "none of the above - keep searching".

Hi there Eric,

The top and bottom photos don't look all that different than what you appear to already have. Either look good. The middle photo looks pretty good too.

Have you seen the Torque Thrust II? I have seen these on several cars with these on and they are outstanding.

Also Edelbrock has some cool wheels as well.

Alex |cheers|

Check the link again - I just added another pic with those wheels.

Picture #1 is what I have on there already. Picture #3 are the same rims but the radial-spines are painted black. This was a suggestions from someone who designs cars. Said he though the wheels were taking the focus away from the car and something more subtle would be better.

Vette(s): 1976 Stingray, L48 auto Buckskin/Buckskin Leather originally. Numbers matching.
I like the bottom 2 pics, the modified coloration of your current wheels is a subtle and classy(IMO) change, and has an all business look. I have always liked the Turbine/Hurricane style wheels, but in the end my favorite wheel design is still the five spoke design of the Crager S/S or the American TorqThrust wheels. If it was me, I would go for the flashy chrome five spoke, or original grey spoke TorqThrust. My second choice would be the new look to your current wheels. I guess it all comes down to whether you want flashy or quiet classy.

Personally, I like #1 best, then #3. If you already have #1 and you decide to change, I might want to buy them... |wink|

After seeing it in person, I think #3 might work, I definitely like what is already there though. Everyone needs change so if it must change, I'd go with #3.

I like the ones on your car now. Wouldn't change them unless they're in bad shape.

I think that turbine style wheels like that look awesome on a Shark!

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
#2 and #4 I like the best. I think you should go with something different!!! |cheers|
