New TKO 5 spd

As of January 27,2004 press release. Tremectransmission has introduced an all new line of
Tremec 5spd transmissions. Model# TKO-500. P/N for GM
application is TECT4616. Glad I held off On my order
guess I have to wait and see when it will be available.

As in all good things that come to us ,,,,,,, there is a price to be paid . To achieve a more durable countershaft tremec has removed the woodruff keys from the formerly three piece unit . The countershaft is now unitized ,,,,,, read expensive and cannot be repaired but on the other hand quite strong . It has been known for quite a while that the capacity of these units has been under rated . They are quite capable of handling big HP and torque numbers in the 3550 or tko models !
