I guess I'm the odd ball!! I'm running Dunlop tires, they have been real good so far, have had them about 8 month's.

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
I love the Firestone Indy 500's I got them on my car and i have the best ride. I am like you, i hate bringing the car out in the rain. They are great driving tires to go cruising.

What is it with everybody. Just because the coasties drive the state (can we say tree huggers, except for a few who cut them down before their timeLOLLOLLOL) does not mean it rains every where. I live in the desert region of the state.

Glen, we call it "harvest" instead of "cut".
I paints a nicer picture!Smile

So after I FINALLY decide I like the look of the BFG's, 4 tires installed $625, I get all these folks who LOVE the Firestones.

I havent seen the Firestones except for pictures so I will get a better look at em before I pull the trigger on this deal.

May I ask why those who choose Firestones did so? Look, Cost, ratings, ect?

The cost is low for the tires. they handle very nicely for all speeds and corners. And they are the original tire for the vette back when they were made of the production line.  These are the current and newest generation of the original tire for the car.  Also, i dont know what you plan on doing with your car whether you show it off at shows or not, but i do and the judges give me extra points and mention how they like seeing the original tire for the car.

Car makers and tire manufacturers have bounced back and forth, sometimes from year to year, so depending on make, model, and year (and car assembly plant) you may have different brand of tire than a prior or later model year.

[/QUOTE] John go on Tirerack.com and you can do a comparision on all tires that will fit your car.
After I did that it was a no-brainer. The Indy500 tops the chart and is a great price.
I put them on my car on a Thursday and ran it balls out at the Glen on Sunday they held real nice....ebo woman made more noise than the tireLOL
Great ride and the look grows on you. I have not heard any complaints from any member here that has them.
Sarge81 is the one that had a problem with new Goodyears on wet roads, he almost wraped up his car on an exit ramp and took them off right away.
Check out Tire Rack.....good luck.
