I ordered some new tires for my '79.  Scheduled to be installed April 2nd (after I get her out of storage).  Total cost will be $400, everything included.  I went with the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s.

Also, have to get her inspected.  Cross your fingers for me!

good deal on the tires. Smile

hey good luck with the inspection.
it's always the most stressfull time of the year for me.  you have to watch out for the little, tiny, nagging things.  for instance, every year i hear the same thing:  "the horn doesn't work," or "you can't drive it without a windshield..."  "blah, blah, blah...."

HUH? Well, you can in Texas. A vehicle doesn't have to have a windshield here. And...if it don't have a windershield, it don't have to have wipers, either! But, that's a different story, for a different forum...

That is a good deal on tars, Adam.
Does PA have an emissions test, even tho the car is over 25 years old? If not, then as long as all the lights work, the horn blows, the e-brake holds, etc. it should pass with no problem.

Does Texas make ya wear goggles if ya don't have the glass in front of ya?

Nope...they figure if we're dumb enough to drive it like that, we deserve the bug/bird/rock-hauler splatters!

What size did you order? I got mine two days ago and washed them yesterday while the weather was in the 50s.
Cost was $104 per tire plus $2.50 per tire to send them to the landfill plus sales tax.
Included spin balance. Make sure they put the weights on the inside of the rims.
