I have Delco's and put them on new with Coker radials (really BF Goodrich made for Coker) a few years back. At the time it was a noticible ride improvement.

I would like to upgrade for another noticible ride improvement this time. Can anyone comment if they changed from Delco's to something else and could say it was an upgrade?

Or, should I just go ahead and get new seat foam on order???
I figure I might as well get some new shocks along with having my new tires installed.  Any opinions on brand?  The rest of the suspension is bone stock, no lowering springs or other mods.
I have the Delcos on the 71 and the Bilsteins on the 77.. The 77 is a beast  as far as performance next to the 71 but is it just the shocks? Doubt it. LOL

Ride / handling / cost comparison between the two MR Nutz? Since you have 2 comparible in design cars how you rate the shock camparison between the two for the cost value..... Think Hard Now....

I think The Last Detail Corvette Parts sells Delco Gas shocks on ebay for about $110 plus shipping. Bought a set a couple of years ago, got em in my box-O-parts in case I need em.

edit. just looked, none listed by TLD, but check out "thepartsladi". $96+10 shipping. Pretty sure they're gas.

The 77 also has a fiber mono leaf and some engine mods and some tranny tricks, so  actually every way you turn the 77 wins as far as handling .
I can take corners with the 77 that I wouldn't dare with the 71. Maybe its just me and maybe I am just familiar with the 77 more in that type of driving. The 71 rides awesome but if I was going for performance I would not have bought the Delcos for it.
The 77 is also geared different I am at around 3500 rpms at 70 mph in it vs. the lower 2 grand  at the same mph in the 71 , Its really hard to compare when the two cars are so different but still the same.
Wouldn't  I make a good politician with all the double talk LOL

Okay I bought Monroe Sensematic Gas Charged Shocks today off of EBAY.

MONROE SHOCKS

I couldn't help it the deal was just to darn good to pass up. I had them on my 68 Camaro and liked them so I thought I would give them a whirl on the Blacray.

Now I just need to get a deal on that Edelbrock Preformer 2101 and I will be ready to start the winter mod season.....I'M LOOKING!

Do you guys really like the gas shocks?

Do you need to check/change the pressure for different rides?

If everything else is stock and I am just a road jockey, would I really appreciate gas shocks?

I don't find the ride on these Monroe's to be hard or stiff. I doubt that you would dislike them Dave. I actually just put a full set on my buddies 94. This car had Bilsteins on it before and they were shot. They are way too expensive for his budget so we went with the Monroes.

He ended up wirh a great ride for a 1/3 of the price.

Just a heads up, I hear VB&P is planning an Anninversary suspension sale next month.  I'll be interested to see a sale price on the Bilstein Sports.
