Vette(s): 1982 Black, ZZ4, Hooker Side Pipes, 3.55 Rear, Rebuilt & upgraded 700R4, All new suspension, brakes, & new Charcoal interior.

He's changing out the motor mounts, lets hope that fixes the header hitting the frame issue. Once that problem is fixed we can move forward.

Once I know the results I let you know.

Put new motor mounts in, gained about 1/16" the headers still hit the frame Angry Maybe solid mounts are the next step??? I'm loosing it Wits%20End

Can the headers be tweaked to clear the frame?
Have you talked to the guys that supplied the headers?
There must be an easy solution.
Hang in there buddy.

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

After getting the engine back in "BIGBRRD" the left header was canted up towards the floorboard.  Hardly any clearance.  The right header fit perfectly.  Looking at them side by side we could see that the collector tube on the left header was attached at an angle but the right one was straight.  Seeing as they were ceramic coated we didn't want to try and modify them.

Contacted the outfit I bought them from and they sent out another set.  They were exactly the same as the first set so those went back as well.  Contacted the manufacturer and was told I was the first to complain about them.  No help there.

So ordered a set of shorty headers and will have to get connector pipes made to fit after the car comes back from the bodyshop.

Good luck!
