I'm looking for an Aux. fan coolant sensor for a 1980 L82. I've checked all the major online catalogs but nobody seems to list this sensor. It screws into the engine block on the right hand side and has 2 large spade terminals on it. Mine seems to be stuck in the on positon so that the electric cooling fan stays on any time the key is on. Anybody have any answers?

Corvette Central list a temperature switch (part #303163) that may be the part you're looking for. The picture isn't real clear but it states it for '79-'80 models.

I have not replaced this temperature switch yet but keep looking someone must have it. If all else fails you could wire a temporary manual hand switch in series to turn on only when temp is too high.

I didn't have a lot of luck with finding it either. I am very surprised Lectric Limited did not list it, they do list the wiring harness used with it. Might not hurt to drop them an e-mail and inquire.

Another place you could contact is DeWitt's. They specialize in aftermarket aluminum radiators and spal fans (with controls) to use with them. They might not have the exact OEM setup you presently have, but they can probably get you fixed up with something compatible. Might require a fan relay used with a coolant sensor.

I was just at NAPA friday looking for the same part for my '81. The part for a '81 is a single wire unit and for the '80 vette it was a 2 wire unit with a new style pigtail connector. I don't know what the part number was but I can find out monday or tuesday for you if you would like.
