69 coupe, no power stearing,,I took the top off of the steering gear box,,It had some blue lubricant left over in the bottom of the box,,I had put 90 weight lube into it,,and it ran out of the bottom like the Dutch boy peeeing,  so i will suck out all the 90 wt. lube and the blue stuff,, my question is how do I pack the gear box with gear grease,,do I try and use a grease gun, or just wad it up ..rd

Strange... we just had this questions.. so I post one the better comments.

" manual steering the GM manual says to use GM #1051052 Steering Gear Lubricant (13 oz. containers) or any Steering Gear Lubricant which meets GM Specification GM 4673M, or its equivalent. Do not use EP Chassis Lube...Do not over-fill the gear housing.  (This was taken directly from the GM Service Manual)   "

I wished mine was as good as the above.. this will also stop in leak problems..

Phil

Steering box greasing tool. This tool is designed for frequent greasing maintenance to insure longevity of the steering box. Part includes instructions. Non-returnable.
Paragon Number: 8581....$18.00 You can pack by hand or use this Zerk fitting bolt    http://www.corvette-paragon.com/p-359613-steering-box-greasing-tool.aspx

Or you can drill out your own bolt, tap it for the Zerk fitting then install the Zerk. That's a lot of work when it costs $18.00. Pack it yourself and save money.
