Vette(s): 1976 coupe with a custom body and a 396 big block with nitrous installed. Runs great!!
You might want to brake in the brakes by doing a few stops (10-15) from 30 mph. Nothing hard just easy stops. There is a coating on the brake pads that need to set correctly. It will make your brakes seat and work that much better.

Vette(s): 71 Coupe Black on Black

Funny stories come to mind when talking about Vette brakes.

My other half has a '68 MGB.  They of course have solid discs on the front with twin piston calipers and drums on the back, no power boost.  My 71 Vette has the usual Vette set up with no power assist.

Well, she had been driving the MGB for a while where she needs both feet on the brake pedal to stop as a sports car should, then she jumped into the Vette and tried the same thing and locked all the brakes up immediately.

I also took my Vette down to get the tags renewed and our inspection station has a brake tester similar to a dyno.  Well the tester dialled the settings in he thought were correct and I passed the front brake test and he commented that the brakes were damn good.  Well when we got to the back he damn near had a heart attack.  98% braking efficiency!  He asked me if I had a power booster hidden away somewhere and then I had to explain to him that all Vettes of this model have four spot calipers and vented discs on all four wheels.  He then understood what a REAL sports car was.
