Vette(s): '71 vert '78 Coupe(Modification in progress)
I am doing a frame off modification to my 78 Vette, and will be building a Big Block for it. My goals are to reach about 500-550 HP.

I am looking into buying a 700R4 trans for my Vette. I have found a company that offers high performance built overdrive transmissions. The package I am interested in is their Level 3 Extreme Duty trans that will handle up to 600 HP. http://www.700r4.com/trans/level3.html

I was wondering if anyone has any dealings with this company, and what do you think of them?

Thanks!

Bill

I've not actually done any business with BowTie Overdrives, but I'm about 2 weeks away form ordering one of their Level II auto-txmissions for my '79. I've spoken with and exchanged e-mails with Steve Holmes, who is either the only or one of the owners. He's been VERY helpful. I get the sense they're pretty eager to wrok with folks in order to sell product, which may be partly a function of a slow "business climate" for a lot of companies.

Anyway, like I said, I've not bought anything yet but I am planning to do so very soon. I have to figure out my car's rear-end gear ratio, then I can order the correct torque converter to go w/ my new 4-speed transmission.

I bought my 200R4 from them. Very easy to work with and will answer any questions you may have. I went with the 200R4 because it was a better fit to replace my TH400 trans
