Manually Rotate Wheels?

Vette(s): 1972 mille miglia red corvette convertible. This is a car currently under restoration. The pic above is of me and my Ph.D. candidate daughter. She, not my Vette, is my pride and joy. Smile...
Okay, I guess I'm dumber than dirt. My '72 is on four jack stands. The rear wheels are off. I just want to rotate the rotors to move the half shafts for cleaning and painting. The car is in neutral and the parking brake is off. Yet the rotors won't spin when I try to move them manually. What's up? I B confused.

Push the brake pads back a little to release the clamping pressure.
      Only 34 years together

Yeah, well...not possible. The calipers have been removed! Smile...

With the suspension hanging in the rear, the halfshafts will bind up, making it difficult to turn them. You can jack up on the trailing arm(s) a little and then turn the shafts. Thumbs Up

Remember...the halfshafts are part of the suspension...they are the upper control arms, so to speak.
