So I got my LT-1 intake manifold from ebay.  It has no provision for a heater hose fitting.  Is this the way they came over the counter an then the installer drill and tapped a hole, or has this one just been welded up.  If so, whoever welded it did a really nice job because I can't tell.  So, before I go drilling and tapping a hole, I don't have some rare race manifold do I?  It's a 3959594 71-72 LT-1 intake.

It's this one:

just a guess here but is it possible that the return is supposed to be in the thermostat housing?

I think this may have come off of a heater delete car?  Hey, Sportivo, what's your manifold look like?

I have a pic, but I don't know how to get it small enough to post!
I CAN tell you this..........the heater hose connection is on the front right side of the manifold, just "below" where the thermostat drops in.

Upon further review, I'm sending this manifold back.  I found a crack at the base of the #1 intake runner.  The heater hose hole has been welded up.  So I am back in the market for a 71-72 LT-1 intake manifold (3959594).

Just curious, is there an aftermarket direct replacement, i.e. with the correct choke rod fitting, for this manifold?
