Is there a differance between lower left and lower right oem replacement ball joints or are they identical replacements for either side?

They're both the same, as far as I know. Uppers and lowers, as far as side to side, are the same.

Yeah, put your thumb on your vice and hit it real hard with the hammer to get that out of the way.
That way you won't be holding back worrying about hitting it when it comes time to knock the bejesus out of the pickle fork
