Glad you made it home safe Dave. That is one of the few parts I have not replaced, it will probably go out when I'm on a trip! Good to know the tip about staying away from the rebuilds.

Dave,

If you could have let me know about the brake problem I could have directed you to "Corvette Sports"  They are located I Sheboygan Wisconsin!!  You went by them on I-43!!

Yes Dan, I went by Sheboygan, at about 6:30 a.m.

It really wasn't that bad. Just had to leave extra room in front of me.

Investigation found that the master cylinder was OK. Didn't loose any fluid. There was a stain on the front left tire that could be brake fluid.

There was air is the system. Front wheel bearings had some play in them, so maybe the rotors pumped air into the calipers. All wheels and master have been bleed, so now we keep an eye on the brake pedal.

Strange that the brakes were fine for 1600 miles and then suddenly they failed. No indication that they were getting spongey.

Boy I hear ya. I had absolute confidence in anything on my vette cause I am the only one who touches it.....Then, my brake pedal went to the floor.........very unsettling indeed.
