Vette(s): 1976 stingray, 350 C.I. 325HP 4 speed, t-tops white.

My Vette (4 speed manual) is recently having loss of power when I accelerate no matter what gear I am in.  It seems as if there is a clog or something that is preventing the full performance power that it should have.  It feels like a "pulling" sensation  - as though something is holding the car back from accelerating normally  -  then the sensation stops as if it is clogged.

Does anyone know what may be causing this?  Thanks.

I am betting on a clogged fuel filter, its the cheapest and simplest to fix.

Or.... I've seen cases that the "strainer/sock" on the end of the sending unit has enough "gunk/varnish" built up on it that it will collapse cutting fuel flow causing a surging condition. Car will idle fine but when you start getting on it the engine will have no "umph." And chances are the strainer in the tank is probably original.

And if this is the problem you can either replace the strainer or just spray it up with carb cleaner and gently scrub it with an old toothbrush to clean it up.

Good luck and let us know what the problem was when you get 'er fixed.

Ron, it's due to the large size picture.  The resize will cure it.

It needs to be changed to a link, like This One!!!
There were two pics there, to start with!

I think those pics are supposed to be part of the sig., and just needs a little editing! Adams' Apple38873.8200347222
