Did the VIN decoder thing with this site and it says L98 engine, not an L83 which is what the Crossfire is suppose to have. Does the L83 simply mean the crossfire setup and the remaining an L98 or what?

Vette(s): 1968 convertible; 1980 L-82. Numbers match on both.

There were no optional engines for '82, so they are all crossfire.
