I was cruising K&N's site today. I found an air cleaner for a Tri-power set up. Has anyone used this?
The factory arrangement is just a piece of foam like on a lawnmower engine. It probably will filter out a cat, not much on finer debris. I haven't checked price yet, but those big motors ain't cheap.
Your thoughts please?

By the way, when I was looking at applications for this set up, They also showed this filter fitting a '70 vette, 350 3X2! I ain't never heard of that one! Did someone tear a page out of my Black Book?

Vette(s): 1969 convertible L71 427/435 4-speed black interior
I have a K&N filter on my '69 L71. I bought it through Summit Racing which is cheaper than through the Vette resto suppliers.
I can't honestly say if I get a real difference in performance as the low end already has plenty of a kick in the pants and the fuel mileage is still laughable. The K&N does look a lot better than the factory type foam and screen.
The factory AC filter is expensive as it is, so go ahead and get a K&N.

I just checked the Summit site, they show this part as unavailable! Rats
I guess I will order local after all.
