I feel for you Adam. I am fortunate to have 2 brother in laws who know GM motors inside and out, especially the C3 era motors. I also have one that has a body shop. So any time I need a hand with engine or tranny work, I can call on them to lend a hand. Not a hand out, they have to make a living too, but it is great to have the resourse available.

I called them.
He said they are so busy they wouldn't even be able to touch it for 2 or 3 weeks.
I need it done in 2 or 3 weeks!

Do they know who you are Adam? Maybe you could pull some weight that way or something being that you own this place and all. Think it would work???

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Adam, I kind of know how you feel. i bpought my vette in April 2 years ago, and at the end of June the Calipers started leaking, so that meant no driving of the vette til the brakes were fixed. By the end of July, it was running again. Boy, that sure was a long month....

7 weeks and counting here Adam. I sure hope it doesn't take them that long with mine! The stripes will be the worst part I think for them.

Mine has never been out of commission that long after I finally got it really working again! I think it'll be down for a month now because of the leaky brake caliper. Stinks too, because I've been away at school for about 8 months, anxiously awaiting the time to come home so I could take the tops off and cruise around. Nope!! In time I guess!!

Adam,
Did I understand your problem correctly? You have been 7 MONTHS to have the engine changed in your car! You are on your third shop? That is insane!
I don't know what stage your job is in, but try Jonathan Alorio at Dave's in West Chester. He and Dad have 7 or 8 mechanics and he has 1 bay he uses just for performance car work.
They changed the car in my car with the engine in the car when others were not interested.
They may be a little on the high side, but do great work. I woundn't have anyone else touch my engine now. Phone (610) 696-7153
Good luck,
Ditch
