Hi
My 68 big block Hooker headers are burning the piston 1 and 3 ignitor cable boots.
They are presently still ok, but for how much longer ?
What can I do ?
Different angle boots? New set of cables, which once ?
I heard of keramic boots. Can I buy them and install them to the existing ignition cables or do I need a complete new set ?
The actual ignition cables are TAYLOR SPIRO-PRO 8mm SILICONE and overall in good shape, except for this 2 positions, where the headers had to be angled differently to clear the steering box. |cussing|
Thanks Gunther

Hey Wesch,,,,, I went through the same problems after i fired up my new setup ! I installed a set of jacobs ceramics and that ended all the problems .One thing they are expensive,,,, 200$ us after handling etc. I saw no other alternative and they cure the heat problems 100% with no BS.

Have you thought about getting 90° angle boots??? and my advice would to be change ALL your plug wires.

barring that..maybe some sorta metal shield ??? don't know if you can buy something like that for YOUR Vette...maybe you could fabricate something that would do that job????

Hi
Do you have a link contact ( internet ) ?
I also heard about those and it sounds good.
The boots are not contacting the headers, so ceramic boots should do.
Thanks, Gunther |thumb|

This seems to me like a much cheaper solution (200$ wires ;) |headscratch| )
