Vette(s): My Corvettes are a 1978 L-82 Coupe with an automatic transmission. It has a Silver Anniversary paint scheme with an Oyster interior. I also have a 2003 Electron Blue convertible, Milestone Edition with an LS-1 and a six speed transmission.
I want to replace the ignition shielding on my 78. It has the L-82 engine and automatic transmission. I have the distributor shield. Can anyone help me with the part numbers and a diagram of how the shielding parts install on my engine? I want to make the car as correct as I can. Thanks in advance.

Check Paragon. If they don't show it, I'll try to find the parts in my parts book from that era.

I'll see if I can chase a catalog down tomorrow. It seems like the diagram for the 78 was missing. As I recall, there were some parts listed for w 78, but I couldnt put together anything that looked complete. Thanks for the reply.

The AIM(Assembly Instruction Manual) has the parts and info on installation....an invaluable addition to anyone's library, along with the Factory Service Manual(s). All can be had fairly reasonably, price-wise, and will save their costs in the long run.

Here's one page from the Sept 1980 Parts Book.
For some reason can only put one image per reply.

Here's other page. P/Ns may have changed and this edition had no pics of the parts.
Sorry about the size and rotation. Didn't have time to fix.
Hope this helps.

Unless it's an NCRS car, the '78 ignition shielding was plastic (foil lined I think) and kinda crappy looking.

Plus if you use the spiral wound, carbon core wires, there not much RFI.
