Here is the deal. I bought a 68 427 4 spd from a
guy in many boxes and now am close to getting the puzzle
back to running order. He had hit a curb and tore the pan
off the engine ( now rebuilt and back in the car ) and
broke an ear off the trans, so before I got it, he had
the trans rebuilt and a used repacement case was
installed with good ears! The "correct" tail shaft was
used and after I had the motor rebuilt, the combo went
back in and bolted right up. I installed the HURST
shifter that he had on the car and then the linkage,
put an allen wrench in the shifter to adjust it and
all 3 links are noe about 1 1/2 inches to short!
Are any of the Muncie case shift posts in different
locations or am I missing somthing else? Thanks!
