Vette(s): 1972 coupe/350 cid/mild cam/4 spd/20 ft. paint (looks perfect from 20 ft.), but it sure runs nice.
Has anyone experienced the difficulty I'm having shifting OUT of reverse with this product? Shifting into is no problem, it's getting out where I have to almost bang it with my fist to disengage. That's annoying! Thanks, guys!

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
I hate to say, but that could be an internal trnas problem. Pull the link and try to shift it at the trans and see what happens.

Will do, Ken. It might be due for an overhaul...plenty of metal shavings and sludge at last oil change. Since I posted this thread, I went into the Cobra website and alot of these guys were complaining of the same symptoms associated with this shifter. One guy said he contacted Mr. Gasket and was told it just needed breaking in. I'll try engaging and disengaging repeatedly and see if it does the trick. In the meantime, I'll employ my fail-safe device....a 2x4 I gently drive up onto, providing enough rear momentum to go down the driveway. |laugh|
