How to remove outter bolts to rear spring

Thought this was going to be easy.. Couple of hours at best.. but nooooo the car has a mind of its own... Here's my situation... bought a new mono spring from van steel.. can't wait to install it. Got the car up, tires off, undid the adjustable nuts but now I can't get the bolt out!! The bolt in about 9" long and I can't manuver it out of the little hole. Any ideas?

Steve, you shouldn't have any problems taking the bolts out the holes they are plenty big. Is a washer rusted on the bolt head? I did Spring work for 15 yrs never had a bolt not come out.

did you unspring the spring, meaning take the weight off it with a jack under it or clamp? the bolts on Ian were so rusted on they had to be cut off. Aegisfang 38621.729224537

Steve, if you have the rear stabilizer bar, you need to remove the brackets for them on the trailing arm, just above the bolt you're trying to get out. Then the bolt will come out the top of the trailing arm.
The brackets are held on by two bolts, and a bracket inside the t-arm, that the bolts go into. Take the thru-bolt out of the sway bar @ the bracket, and then you can get to the two bolts that hold the bracket on. Once the bracket is off, the spring bolt will come out easily thru the top hole in the t-arm.

That's it guys.. sway bar had to come off..... Kind of thought so, but was hoping there was another way.. Thanks for your input, cars now riding on the new mono spring and what a difference it makes...

I just went with the same spring from VBP 360#. Did you also
install new shocks? I did not and the car seems to
have a little more bounce. I think I am going to order the new shocks
as well. So if I do I will have a good set of AC/Delco gas shocks for
sale with less than 600 miles on them.

I put a set of Bilstein's sports on all four corners. Took the car over some R/R tracks and didn't break my wife's neck... What a difference!
