Hey all,

Just curious how much steering play is normal and how much is not. My 72 seems fine but it seems slightly loose. I know some is normal but just wondering if any of you have any insight on what I should be looking out for. Or if there are any hard fast numbers on the subject.

Thanks!!

Vette(s): 1974 Convertible - Unrestored, numbers matching Corvette.
Check the rag joint (just under your alternator). Many times the fiber is torn and steering is extending to the metal stops. A new rag joint (or steering coupler) can be ordered from your Chevy dealer and can be installed with simple tools.
