Denny, You are right, the coolant temp sensor is in the loop. I changed mine while I was having idle issues but that wasn't the problem but it was a likely suspect.

Crossfire 1982, I like your picture of your Vette. I have a Black with red I've been working on for about five years. It's a love/hate type thing. Fix one thing, find nine others.
Anyway, If a scanner could be plugged in, and the room temp. was the same as the reading of the coolant sensor, that would eliminate it.
An open thermostat can be found also with a scanner.

This scanner you are talking about.Is it what you plug into that conection under the ashtry.I'll go out right now and check my coolant...........No thats not it
