I would like to get new wires and plugs for my 76,ecklers
has a set of moroso high performance for headers but it
states for hei ignition only, how do i tell if I have hei
ignition.

If you have hei, there won't be an external coil for your plugs on the intake, it is in the distributor cap

A '76 should have HEI (it was made standard in '75), unless it's been replaced. HEI is also very large compared to previous GM distributors (the kind with the metal window for adjusting points).

The plug wire terminals on an HEI dist. cap are "male". The plug wire terminals on a point type cap are "female"
