Good heart surgeons are in demand.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

Our cars look the same right now!  (Great big empty spot right in the front.)  Mind will be back together at the end of the week, and I'll post some photos then.

Good luck with the process.

Thanks guys it's been a long time coming to take it out.  Had to fix the old lady's MGB first.

Finally got all pistons out and the heart is worse than originally thought.  Looks like the engine was sitting for some time with moisture in the bores prior to the PO who I bought it from.  I have one with the cracked bore, one with some serious rust marks which may hone out, but yet another with a rust ridge where the rings have obviously sat with moisture for some time and running the engine just polished the rusty ring in the bore.

Engine already has 30thou oversize pistons fitted so will have to see what can be done.

No wonder I could never get it to idle correctly and power was down some.

Sorry 'bout the bad heart there, mate!! I sure hope you can find a solution for repairing it. All of the cylinders could be sleeved, but...$$$$$$...is it worth it? Might be time for a transplant.
