Vette(s): 1971, LT-1, T-top, 4-speed (M21), Mulsanne Blue, 3.70 rear, mostly original (sidepipes). 2006, Daytona Sunset Orange Coupe.

When I first start my '71 LT-1, if I haven't driven it for awhile (several months), the headlights will pop-up, without me touching the switch. After a few minutes running, they will go back down, and work properly thereafter.

Is this just because the vacuum hasn't been "held" in the cannisters, or might there be a problem that needs fixing.

Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.
Mine will do that on occasion also.  I have completely rebuilt the headlight system with all new parts so it must be related to the lack of vacuum in the system after sitting.

I tell my woman that she is just giving me those bedroon (drive me) eyes.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

Vette(s): 1972 Steel Cities Gray T Top. Original Owner, Original Paint and Interior. The running gear has been rebuilt. only 250,000 miles on the clock..
There is a check valve and filter that is located near the distributor on the drivers side. Change thes and it should solve the problem....hopefully.
