What are the ups and downs of installing headers on my 74 corvette small block??? Ive only had them on Chevelles and Nova's. What about the heat factor?? Anything i should know or look out for before installing? Any and all info or opinions would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks.............

No downsides that you haven't already had with the other cars. All good. There are some earlier post about headers you may want to check out.

I just purchased headers for my 79 but haven't installed them yet. I was told the ceramic coated headers would run alot cooler thus keeping the inside of the car cooler. Once I get them on I'll let you know if it works.

My mechanic recommended that the headers be ceramic coated on my 74, small block (not original engine). I have done that.
Engine temprature running between 160 & 190 (can't say exactly, due to the guage...)
I'm not an expert when it comes to this stuff, but anything to get the engine runnung cooler is a bonus. The headers definately works with the small block - no doubts about that.
Be sure that you ask for ceramic coating and not powder coating. Powder coating will let the engine run hotter.
