Took my heads off as part of a curiousity project to find out why I was having an overheating issue. To my dismay I realized whom ever put this engine together originally, used the wrong head gaskets. He had almost all of the water jackets blocked ?? Apparently 1969 427's had two versions of water passages and you need to use specific gaskets depending on your application.
My question is for the replacement of the heads gasket,  steel, composite, 2 gaskets ?? Been a long time since I played with engine heads, which has worked best for you guy's.  Running 468 stroker with 9.25 comp, 671 blower with very mild boost, and 2 four barrel edelbrocks.
Opinions appreciated.

Scott78,  I've always had BB of some configuration.  I do a lot of racing and have found that a graphite impregnated gasket works the best.  Fel-pro, mccord and other make this style.  They are a composite gasket
