Many of the registry members have high performance Vettes. I was wondering if due to the high horsepower and torque ( and agressive hole shots ):
1. Have any of you broken any rear suspension parts?
2. What were they?
3. Is it worth it replace the half shafts, U joints and yokes
with "heavy duty" parts?
4. How "sticky" can my rear tires be before I have to start
worrying about riping out the rear end? ( manufacturer &
model of tire )
Thanks

Hy Glenn !
That is a very good question
I have the same here, because those parts is on the vette for a long time and even some of us have put more power and did not up-grade those parts.
I have one problem on vy vette when a drive at very low speed and I let go the gas pedal I ear a kling kling on the back I think it's a universal joint but not sure?
the sound started last summer and now it is always there but only when I slow down at low speed ?????
what do you think.

Hi
If your worried about drive or half shafts breaking and damaging the underside of your car, may be the installation of shaft safety loops could help.
They prevent the broken shafts from flipping around and turning the car upside-down.
Just breaking a half shaft is not so bad, it's the damage this broken shaft will do afterwards. |cussing|
So, who offers a good set of this safety loops ?

Hi there, the stock c2/3 IRS design is one tough mother. I have used my car for auto x, road racing and drag racing and haven't broken anything yet. I have never tried DR with slick though. The limiting factor with high HP seems to be traction. However I just wanted to make sure that my car stays together and I just ordered pair of Carbon Fibre halfshafts from VanSteel. They are good for over 800hp+/800tq+ and come with limited lifetime warranty.
