What type of grease should I use in the u-joints? The manual said to pack them before instaling.

Any good quality bearing grease.  Some people like to use the synthetic, which is at least as good.

Got you beet rich, I had 39 years when I retired!!  Gotta love those fruits and vegetables !!!
Dan  When I put new U- joints on my rear half shaft I got the kind that had zerk fittins on um so I could lubricate them.  Factory ones did not have that ability to grease them.  Lifetime !!!  Ya, right !!

Hey Rick,
I use the Mobil 1 synthetic goop.  Been using it for some time and haven't lost one yet..did you get the grease fitting type..if so it won't really matter since they can be greased all the time..I don't think the non style are needed since the high power and snap shifts aren't an issue.  I like some thing to do anyway..I actually had to buy a grease gun to do my car!  I think that's funny since I have every other tool on the Snap on truck!

Dan if everything goses right(I hope) by the time I retire for good I should have 30+yrs between the two. Rich I did get the u-joint with the grease fitting after reading here about them .The bad thing is as hard as I try I cann't seem to find the time to work on my car. I had planned to on Thyrsday ,but it didn't happen. The funny thing is I have all these parts and the time ,but other things keep popping up.
