Just note that if you have a vehicle without a lockup converter package a high stall torque converter also has a higher slip factor. Thus higher temperatures if you operate out on the highway, etc. The valvoline article is dead on, that with lockup torque convertors you don't give up much. Sadly, I have the old TH350 w/o LU-TC
