I have a bad wobble in the front end of my 1975 coupe. I have replaced the shocks, tie rod ends, power steering pump, everything but ball joints and control arm bushings. they are still tight. When ever I'm slowing down in a right hand turn it almost shakes the steering wheel out of my hand. Everything is tight up front. I am lost trying to fix it. All the garages in the area cant help. Can anyone help me ???????? Please ! Thanks Adrian ( ACE ) |headscratch|

Hi Adrian !
Try to look at your power steering Cylinder you have a ajustement .
question: while you start your engine do the steering move right or left if so you need to ajust
it .
you will get more help from the members.
I ad the same problem or about the same and that was the cylinder ajustement. try to get the instruction to ajuste it because it is a bit thorough.
Normand I have the diagram of the power steering cylinder if you need it i coult send it on your e-mail.

Adrian,
I would check two things.......first check and doublecheck the wheel balance of your tires
also, on my 74 I had a slight wobble at higher speed and the front end checked out tight but the rear spring
was bad and the rods that hold the spring on had no bushings causing the rear to sway
back and forth and that caused the front to sway back and forth. I put a new gymkhana
rear spring in and now it is as tight as a drum. I hope one of those solutions helps....

Good Luck......................... Honey* |bouncy|

Also, check to make sure the wheels haven't kissed a curb. They might be out of round. How does the steering rag joint look?

Ace,
I had a wobble & weave on my '76, & I changed the Power Steering Control Valve, due to a leak. Well, that fixed both the leak & wobble problem. After changing the valve, while it was on stands, I adjusted the valve. Real easy to do.
Put the front up on jack stands, both wheels clearing the ground, & start the engine. If the wheels want to turn even a small amount left or right there is a adjustment nut behind a cap on the valve. Turn the nut a bit clockwise until the wheels start to move one direction, mark it, & then turn it CCW till it goes the other way. mark that, & then center the nut between the 2 lines. That should work for the adjustment.

I got the valve from WWW.FastCorvette.com for $116, & got $40 back for the core.

Hope this can be of some help.
