350 coupe, 4-speed. When I turn on the key, engine will not try to start No clicking sound, just a low buzzing sound. Battery good. Any suggestions fellow C3 members? Thank you. Bill from Kansas

How bout checking connections at the battery. Corrosion will halt transfer of current. Ground off First, on Last. Clean the terminals with warm water and baking soda mixed. Then clean lightly with a brass brush.

I assume you do this, but just in case -- since this is a manual shift, make sure the clutch is pushed in all the way, and maybe check the clutch interlock switch.

I know that. Not my job. Much easier if it is already available.

Good point. Mine doesn't even have an interlock switch but his probably does.

Being a '74, you have to deal with the seatbelt interlock, assuming it is still connected, and working. Sit in the seat, fasten seatbelt, clutch in/auto in park, before it will crank. Buzzer will sound if seatbelt(s) are not fastened before cranking. Also, if the interlock IS still on the car, and working, try pushing the over-ride button on the over-ride relay under the hood. This will allow it to start ONE time if the system is malfunctioning for whatever reason.
Of course, if the interlock system has been disabled, we have to look for other issues such as has been mentioned, checking terminal connections, etc.
