Vette(s): 1978 Pace Car
I would like to keep my 78 Pace Car as original as possible and I need to do a tune-up, is there a specific set of spark plug wires and cap and rotor, etc, that I must use to keep the car as original. I have looked into Mid America, Corvette Central, and Ecklers but still am not sure what parts to purchase. Any help would be appreciated. |headscratch|

A lot depends on what you want out of the car. Are you going for originality for shows, or simply for it's own sake? To be original, you would need genuine GM parts sich as AC spark plugs, AC-Delco tune-up parts, Packard wires in the proper color, AC filters, etc. Much can bought through mass marketers, a GM dealer, or the restoration houses.

As far as just wanting the car to run well, the GM parts will do fine, but you can do just as well or maybe better for less by going aftermarket. I know Corvette Central and probably all the other restoration vendors sell complete GM-Delco tune-up sets as a kit.
