hi,
I have a 69 corvette and I am dropping the engine in tomarrow.
can I drop the engine with the Muncie 4 speed attached all at once?
this will be done with an engine hoist, with a load leveler.
Thanks in advance.
Joe
Ps the frame is for automatic , so the cross member is removable, but if I don't have to take it out
it would be better.

Vette(s): 1973 Orange Metallic Coupe (orig owner), L82, 4 spd (WR), PS, (A/C & PW (I installed from wrecked 73)), leather, AM/FM Stereo, ran with '65 FI unit earlier & will again some day. 2023 Accelerate Yellow HTC Stingray
Yes you can do it.  You may need to remove the front wheel on the side you are going in on and you'll need a fairly high ceiling because the assembly will be almost vertical before you start lowering is in.  It helps if the radiator is out also.  I removed mine as an assembly and plan to put it back the same way.

While I've done it separately, it can be a real PITA getting the input shaft lined up w/o dislodging the throw-out bearing.   A lot easier to mate them out in the open.

Did you pull them out together?

1973 L-82 4 spd

Ok, engine in!!!I did do it without the tranny. The hoist was top heavy and looked like it would have tipped over. Would not have liked that.. Car will not be totally compete, but it will be in Carlisle Thursday. I will be in "T" building across from Chips Choice.
